This will include the fumigation of inventory in warehouses as well as fumigation of shipping containers.RequirementsGrade 12 certificateMinimum 3-5 years experience in warehousing, grading, and fumigation of agricultural productsProven industry management experience of 3-5 years is essentialAll appropriate grain grading and storage/warehousing courses are essential - Grain grading certificates essential (Maize, Ground Nuts, Lucerne)Warehousing experienceFumigation certificates essentialKnowledge of Food Safety PoliciesComputer Literate in MS OfficeCode 8 Driver's License and own vehicleWilling to travel daily between Durban port warehousesClear Criminal RecordMedically fitFluent in Afrikaans and EnglishDuties and ResponsibilitiesInventory management of GWK stock in Durban Port warehouseImprove SOP's to ensure that stock is handled, stored, and packed in the correct mannerMonthly stock take of all inventory including packaging material and fumigantsControl that the warehouses follow correct storage procedures as agreed in the SOP'sStock inspections for storage insectsQuality Assurance and Quality Control of export products when products arrive at the warehouse or when they are dispatched or packed in containersHandling of quality discrepancies and damaged stockClaims report if quality or quantity problems occurExecute grading of import and export loads from GWK (Lucerne, Maize, Pecan nuts, Ground Nuts/Peanuts, and Cotton) according to regulations and standardsFumigation on import and export stockArrange repacking of damaged bags/goodsLucerne grading confirmations, weekly Lucerne stock confirmation and ensure that packaging meets set standardsHandling insurance claims and investigations of inventorySale of damaged productEnsure equipment is of a functional standard, maintained, and calibrated where applicableReport any quality discrepancies directly to the seniorDaily inspections to confirm that truck inspections, container inspections, and warehouse inspections are completed and correctly documented by the contracted warehouse personnelAudit all contracted warehouses on a monthly basis and submit reportsProvide general support to the department such as accurate tracking of stock control cardsExcellent customer service including dealing with queries and complaintsBe a GWK ambassador and a good team playerSkills RequiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComputer literateProject ManagementResponsiblePunctualConflict managementGood administration skillsGood communication skillsInitiativeTeamworkDecision makingLeadership skillsStore Keeping/Procurement jobs
