Gauteng Transport Manager

The Transport Manager will be responsible for:Scheduling and monitoring large truck fleetEnsuring the Controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all timesCollaborating with our in-house truck workshop to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthyManaging drivers, administrators, controllers, and scheduler/sManaging the driver training process (truck and truck mounted crane and attachment or skip, roro mechanism and tipper)Keeping track of and accounting for all diesel consumptionEnsuring that all customer transport requirements are completed timeouslyEnsuring that all drivers have the correct documentation and equipmentProviding written and verbal reporting to, and communication with management that is accurate and timelyQUALIFYING CRITERIATransportation management diploma or equivalent will be an advantageMinimum 10 years' experience in a busy transport environmentLeadership experience and management of a teamComputer proficiency; packages required: MS Word, Excel, and OutlookQUALIFYING ATTRIBUTESSelf-motivated, accurate, goal-oriented, and attention to detailAble to analyse and implement verbal instructionsAbility to multi-task and manage a demanding workload in a pressurised environmentAbility to work independently and within a teamAbility to meet deadlines and deliver results (time management)Excellent communication, telephone, and organizational skillsGreat customer skillsWe regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
