Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Provider is seeking to employ a Fund Accountant.
Candidates must have a B Com degree or a relevant accounting diploma/qualifications with a minimum of 5 years in a fund accounting role within the EB Industry.
Key Performance Objectives
Knolwedge of accounting policies and Generaly Accepted Accounting Practice
Knowledge of the Financial Services Board requirements and involvement
Knowledge of the South African Reserve Bank requirements and involvements
Knowledge of the investment markets and Regulation 28 reporting requirements
Knowledge of segregated investments and disclosure on Annual Financial Statements
Ability to correspond/communicate with auditors, consultants and actuaries
Understand the purpose, background and policies of the organisation
Understand the roles of other staff members and be an effective team player
Communication, listening skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures and backgrounds
Computer skills, including Advanced Excel Skills and the ability to use relevant computer software such as CASEWARE, email diary systems, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Ability to compile electronic working papers as per the Company's style guide

Essential Job Functions
1.Monthly
Monthly management of workflow and deadlines/turnaround times of own portfolio
Managing and meeting deadlines (monthly, quarterly and annual processes)
Reporting to Fund Accounting Manager monthly on status of management accounts and audits
Preparing monthly management accounts and bank reconciliations
Preparing monthly ALM's on all funds
Calculate monthly PAYE and complete PAYE Returns
Manage and prepare SARB Reports and Regulation 28 reports
Resolve actuarial and audit queries and be able to update the AFS with valuations and audit adjustments
Timeous payment of fund invoices

2. Annual Financial Statements
Prepare audit files with Annual Financial Statements up to and including Schedule 1A and Schedule 1B, within the SLA Timelines
<eet audit deadlines as planned by Fund Accounting Manager
Annual planners to be maintained and adhered to at all times
Effective resolution of queries (audit, actuarial and Trustee) within the stipulated turnaround times
Adhere to processes and procedures within the fund accounting team

3. Controlling Costs
Telephone and internet costs
Avoid audit overruns

4. Soft Skills
Courtesy with clients (internal and external)
Tidiness - desk audits
Filing must be done monthly and filed according to the Company's Style Guide
Apply correct telephone and email etiquette internally and externally
