Tearfund is looking for a dedicated and passionate Fragile States and Conflict Adviser to support our work in the Eurasia and North Africa (ENA) region. With a strong preference for a national candidate this role may be based in the successful candidate's country of origin or where Tearfund has a right to work within ENA - see regions listed below.

We're looking for a motivated, dynamic and experienced professional with a strong technical background within the areas of peacebuilding, youth engagement and leadership mentoring. The successful candidate will have experience working within one or more ENA countries, and will have worked within conflict affected communities to implement projects that tackle underlying causes to conflict.
Working alongside Country Leadership, you will design and oversee regional level objectives through quality programming. You have strong influencing skills, are able to develop and design funding opportunities and are able to provide technical capacity strengthening assistance to partners.
You will also work closely with our Fragile States technical unit in helping to improve our corporate approaches to evidence and impact.
Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs. Experience of working within insecure environments is required.
NB:This is a fixed term contract for 1 year with the possibility of an extension subject to funding. This role will be based in one of the following countries: Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Pakistan. We can only accept applications from candidates who already possess the right to live and work in one of the above regions. Salary is dependent on location and will be bench-marked against the local pay market.
The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter-terror measure.
