An international reinsurance firm based in Johannesburg is seeking a Financial Accountant to support their finance operations and drive accurate financial reporting within their small, dynamic team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with group standards while contributing to the growth and efficiency of the South African branch.

Key qualifications for the Financial Accountant: Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance (Essential) CIMA qualification or equivalent preferred 2–5 years of experience in financial services, particularly insurance or a related industry Strong grasp of general accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and payment processes Key duties for the Financial Accountant include but are not limited to: Prepare and draft financial statements in compliance with company and regulatory standards Oversee payment processing and ensure accurate bank reconciliations Maintain general ledgers and ensure consistent accuracy across accounts Support audits and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial reporting Key personal skills for the successful Financial Accountant: Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Proactive and capable of working independently within a small team Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders Resilient and adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced environment If you are passionate about delivering accurate and timely financial reports and have strong experience in financial services accounting, please get in touch to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
