MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION Manage the month end closing process
Perform monthly Group reporting and consolidation
Produce annual Audited Financial Statements
Produce quarterly and annual report the consolidation
Perform forecast and budget (Statement of Financial Position and below operating profit)
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the relevant sectors allocated within the Finance department
Manage the interaction between CSS and Financial Controllers to ensure compliance to statutory and group accounting standards (LHARP), IAS/IFRS accounting & operating KPIs
Manage the immediate reporting team and support the accounting function
Key business partner with other departments (Controlling, HR, Tax, Trade payable and Trade receivable)
Monitor all financial records in the SAP environment
Understand the group chart of accounts and cost center structure and apply correctly (monitor and challenge the adherence to the Accounting Reporting Principles matrix)
Assist the Financial Controlling function with resolving reporting queries.
Monitor and ensure KPIs are captured correctly.
Understand, share and implement Group accounting and reporting changes
Responsible to maintain Income Statement GL accounts below Operating Profit
Produce monthly Group reporting (SAP FC)
Responsible for the accuracy and timeously reporting of all legal entities, notes, intercompany transactions and Exposure packages
Responsible for the quality review of SAP FC (Cherry blossom report)
Engage with key role players to ensure deadlines are met and process improvements are communicated
Other Key Responsibilities
Assist with/coordinate the external audit
Maintain and promote good practices of internal controls
LHARPist – responsible for monitoring/implementation and training
Responsible for Foreign Contract Valuation, PRMA and Site restoration provisions Dividend calculation
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
CA (SA) – qualified, with five years post articles experience, with one of the big four.
Experience within mining and construction industry will be an advantage
Articles experience across various types of industries will be an advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS
Sound knowledge of current IAS / IFRS
SAP experience mandatory
Extensive reporting & consolidation experience
Vat, Companies and Income Tax
Excellent communication skills
Management experience
Construction and/or mining industry experience is a plus
