Financial Accountant

Cape Town - Form part of a well-known imports and exports company. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Senior Finance and Commercial Team. You will be able to take ownership of the entire Financial Accounting functions for the Cape Town operations. Significant exposure to SAGE 300 and strong experience with team management will be required.
Job Description:

Responsible for the record-to-report process flow, driving efficiencies and improvements on both the system and business process side in Cape Town

To be a financial ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system champion and ensure input and output integrity of data

Responsible for transactional processing on Sage 300, including foreign currency revaluations for selected modules and processing of journals

Balance sheet reconciliations, ISA (Instalment Sales Agreement) reconciliations, IBT (Inter Branch Transactions) reconciliations and reallocations

Inter-company loan reconciliations and interest calculations

Maintaining the fixed asset register for the region, including the processing of all relevant journals relating to depreciation, additions, disposals and profit and loss entries

Manage Accounts Payable team consisting of Accounts Payable Analysts, Invoice Matching clerk(s) and Receipting clerk(s)

Assist with and manage monthly stock takes, variance and query resolution, margin analysis

Support the Senior Finance Manager and Head of Finance during the budgeting process

Year-end audit preparation, collating information and preparing audit files

Reporting utilizing Sage 300, Advanced MS Excel and reporting add-ins

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of five years commercial experience

SAGE 300 (Accpac) experience, non-negotiable
