This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, optimising cost management, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and shareholders, delivering meaningful financial analysis and maintaining strong financial governance across the organisation.
Duties:
Manage the full finance function including bookkeeping, general ledger management, and month-end processes
Prepare and post month-end journals and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
Oversee invoicing, credit control, and supplier payments
Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders and shareholders
Prepare detailed board packs including financial results, variance analysis, forecasts, and commentary
Analyse financial performance and assess the impact of business decisions on profitability
Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor budget performance against actual results
Develop and maintain costing models to track project and departmental profitability
Forecast financial performance, cash requirements, and revenue targets
Ensure compliance with SARS regulations including VAT, income tax, and payroll tax
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
Manage B-BBEE financial reporting and related submissions
Monitor cash flow and working capital while preparing rolling cash flow forecasts
Oversee payroll processes and ensure financial accuracy and compliance
Manage external audit processes and ensure timely and accurate submissions
Utilise financial systems such as Sage or Xero while continuously improving financial processes through automation and optimisation
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12)
BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
Completed CIMA professional is a MUST!
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years experience in a Financial Manager or senior accounting role
Proven experience managing financial reporting cycles, budgeting, and forecasting
Experience overseeing audits and compliance processes
Exposure to technology, consulting, or project-based environments is advantageous
Skills & Competencies:
Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail
Financial planning and analysis capability
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage compliance, governance, and internal controls
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
