An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager Cape Town Fishing Operations at I&J, Cape Town Fishing, Waterfront. The Cape Town Fishing operation is responsible for the management of a fishing fleet of wet and freezer vessels utilized to catch I&J’s annual quota and incurs annual operational expenditure in excess of R700 million per annum, as well as capital expenditure of c.R70 million annually. The successful candidate will form part of the leadership team of the Cape Town Fishing operations as a finance business partner, and have responsibility for the financial and management accounting of the Cape Town Fishing operations, including control over financial processes, reporting and operational and capital expenditure. Number of Direct Reports: 3 Job Specification: Key Performance Areas: Financial control, with focus on the following key areas:Fishing operational costsOverhead costsCapital expenditure and asset management (approval, Capex execution, post Capex review, control over assets)Inventory management (fresh and frozen fish, critical spares, fuel)Financial policies and proceduresMaintain and improve the financial and general control environment Providing metric-based financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision making. Financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis to Cape Town Fishing management team, Executive Committee, Board and shareholders Manage the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process at Cape Town Fishing, within the corporate timeline and deliverables Drive long term planning within the Cape Town Fishing operations, including vessel replacement and fleet management strategy Proactively improve reporting by questioning SAP and other applications functionality with a view to using technology to assist wherever possible Manage the Cape Town Fishing finance team Experience: Minimum 5 years of Financial Management experience in Manufacturing or Capital Intensive Business environment.
