About the Finance Team Luno Accountants are a savvy bunch who love what they do. We handle the core accounting responsibilities at Luno and as a member of this fast-paced, growing team, you know your accounting principles applied in business from back to front, you are deadline-driven, you have a problem-solving and value-adding mindset. We’re looking for a self-starter, creative thinker and collaborative individual who is passionate about developing themselves and others and who is willing to go above and beyond to do their part in taking this rocketship to the moon. The core outputs for this role: Accounting responsibilities: Reconciling corporate bank accounts in different currencies & countries.Preparing, maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.Preparing quarterly and year end accruals and prepaid expenses.Uploading bank and credit card statements into Sage.Reviewing, processing and paying employee expenses and travel reimbursements.Comfortable working with inter-company accounting.Taking ownership of invoice & payment processing, master data management and supplier reconciliations. Monthly Reporting: Reviewing and finalise the reporting of your entities trial balances.Prepare reporting results in the required formats for compliance reporting purposes.Prepare and analyse the Actual versus Budget reporting for your allocated departments. Administration and Project Management: Maintaining a complete audit trail of all source documentation used to support the financial reporting on the shared Google drives.Ad hoc project work i.e. assisting with building systems, improving process efficiencies, creating automation and implementing internal controls. Audit Management: Liaise with the auditors for your entities.Source the supporting documents for annual audits.Manage the audits to completion. The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have (Basic Requirements): A Chartered Accountant CA (SA) or similar internationally recognised professional designation (i.e. CIMA, ACCA).Minimum 2 years working experience in a similar position. Newly qualified CA(SA)’s will be considered if you have audit experience of entities with international exposure.Must be at an advanced level Excel / Google Sheets.System experience with relevant ERP systems.Cape Town or Johannesburg based with the ability to work remotely.Candidates must have reliable internet connection and a conducive work from home set-up. Advantageous (Nice to have requirements): Experience with cryptocurrencies, digital assets or financial assets. Special tools / system experience Sage X3 and / or Kiss Flow.Experience working in a fast moving and ever-evolving environment.
