We are seeking an ambitious and driven individual to join our 24-month Facility Manager Internship program.
This comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to become a successful Data Centre DCEO Facility Manager within an Amazon Data Center.
As an intern, you will be responsible for data center engineering operations, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.As a Facility Manager in Training, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage the operations and maintenance of our facilities.
You will work closely with experienced facility managers and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of facility management, including maintenance planning, equipment management, safety compliance, budgeting, and team leadership.Key job responsibilitiesFacility Operations Management:Responsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to established practices and procedures.Participate in strategic planning projects for the data center facilities.Conduct financial analyses and contribute to financial decision-making processes.Typically manage 5 or more direct reports after the program.Negotiate and roll out contracts and space allocations.May oversee the build-out of facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.Project Management:Conduct Project Management for one site.Contribute to the development of project plans for the business group.Effectively set priorities to meet goals on budget and on time.Demonstrate strong people/program management skills.Asset and Inventory Management:Responsible for asset and inventory management activities within the data center facilities.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.Ensure the application of best practices in the area of expertise.Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Coordination and Collaboration:Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems (e.g., switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems).May assist in the design and build-out of new facilities or projects to increase current facility efficiency.Team Development and Recruitment:Participate in recruiting efforts and continually raise the bar.Active in the training and development of other team members.May participate in training staff.Insist on the highest standards from self and others, driving accountability for results.Keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department, or company.Engender trust and respect in all working relationships.Professional Development:Draw from a deep group or department-level understanding to make business decisions.Use business knowledge to set priorities and develop project plans.Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.Create work plans and monitor accomplishments.Resourceful, maintaining an effective pace and getting things done.May manage individuals and/or other managers in remote locations.Customer Service:Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.A day in the lifeAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
