Main Purpose: To coordinate, manage and execute manufacturing and processes in accordance with planned scope of work, safety, quality requirements and budget constraints. Key Performance Areas: Manage cost centres in terms of budget, resources and operational requirements. Support manufacturings commercial activities from proposals, project planning and budgeting through to contract and claim management. Manage, plan and implement policies, objectives, or activities of the company to ensure continuing operations, or to increase productivity. Develop, implement, modify and manage the manufacturing and production processes in order to achieve targets. Analyse operations to evaluate performance of the unit and its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy changes. Negotiate and approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors and other entities. Direct and coordinate the activities of the Foreman and interact effectively with Work Preparation, Project Managers, QA and QC Managers to achieve optimum high quality outputs within given time lines. Recruit, manage by objectives, reward and recognize, motivate, train and develop and discipline where necessary employees in the Production department. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environment as well as legal requirements. Planning of production equipment maintenance and downtime requirements. Weekly reporting of production status and implement corrective action as required. Any other job related duties as required from time to time. Preferred
Requirements:
NDip or BTech in Production Management, Mechanical or Electrical Heavy Current. Post-graduate qualification in or certificate course in Production Management and/or Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) would be advantageous. 20 Years experience in production/fabrication. 5 Years experience in a management position. Knowledge of induction bending, high pressure piping, pressure vessels and boiler pressure parts production. Experience in reading and interpreting technical data. Knowledge of reading and practical knowledge of welding processes. Proficient in reading engineering drawings. Sound knowledge of production processes and workflow, production management and project management in a fabrication environment. Intimate knowledge of relevant sections of design codes, e.g. ASME, EN, BS and ISO (fabrication tolerances, welding processes, heat treatment, material traceability, etc.). Working knowledge of the commonly used contract formats. Computer literate (MS Office).
