Role OverviewThe Events Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all events within the Waterfall precinct and the broader property portfolio.
This includes public-facing events, paid-for experiences, internal corporate functions, client activations, and sponsorship initiatives.
The role requires a detail-driven project manager with excellent coordination skills, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a deep understanding of industry trends.
The Events Specialist will also support foundation-related initiatives and collaborate on innovation within the events and marketing function.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Strategy & Planning
Develop strategic event plans aligned with broader marketing and brand objectives.
Plan and manage an annual calendar of events, ensuring clear milestones and timelines.
Ensure alignment of each event with target audiences, business goals, and precinct vision.
Event Execution & Management
Coordinate end-to-end logistics for both public and internal events.
Manage relationships with service providers, suppliers, and venue partners.
Ensure seamless execution, including permits, safety compliance, staffing, and vendor delivery.
Handle budget planning and post-event reconciliation.
Sponsorships & Stakeholder Engagement
Manage sponsorship deliverables for brand activations.
Build and maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and community stakeholders.
Oversee fulfilment of sponsorship agreements and reporting.
Innovation, Research & Trends
Stay up to date with emerging trends in event management, audience engagement, and experience design.
Propose and test new ideas to ensure events remain fresh, innovative, and competitive.
Foundation & Community Support
Provide event-related coordination for the foundation's community outreach and CSR initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams to align events with community-driven brand values.
Reporting & Evaluation
Measure event success against defined KPIs.
Compile post-event reports with recommendations for future improvements.
Track ROI and engagement metrics for public and partner events.
Requirements
Degree in Events Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Hospitality, or a related field.
Relevant certification in Project Management or similar field.
NQF Level 7 qualification.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience managing a variety of events (public, corporate, and internal).
Proven experience handling end-to-end logistics and multi-stakeholder coordination.
Prior experience in sponsorship activation and community event management is essential.
