Previous experience in the field of sustainable development and operations of buildings and precincts, and exposure to rating tools such as Green Star, LEED and EDGE is necessary.
Role responsibilities Contribute to analysis of client needs and client satisfactionContribute towards successful planning and execution of projects in accordance with established standards and technical excellenceContribute to marketing of the team's service delivery and securing potential projectsPrepare proposals as and when required with the assistance of more senior colleaguesPositive attitude to team building and sound working relationshipsDevelop specifications in line with requirements of applicable rating schemesReview of project documentation for certification purposesDraft reports and provide performance calculations in line with credit or other requirementsLiaise with project teams, contractors, Clients and their representatives as and when requiredLiaise with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA)'s technical representatives / case managersBe proactive in finding solutions to issues and solving problemsContinuous development of professional and technical knowledgeMinimum 3-5 years' experience in the Built Environment, in an Environmentally Sustainable Design Consultancy or an Engineering Consulting firmUnderstanding of the design, construction and building operations processUnderstanding of buildings performance simulation, e.g.
daylight, thermal comfort, energyAbility to plan and execute a certification project from start to finish with some support from more senior colleaguesProficiency in written and verbal EnglishProficiency in MS Suite of applications – Excel, Word and PowerPointAble to use Adobe Acrobat or similar editorAble to read and interpret design and construction drawings by architects and building services engineersGreen Star / LEED Accredited Professional and accreditation in other industry recognised schemesUndergo Accredited Professional training in schemes relevant to our projectsWe believe that a diverse workforce is key to our business success.
