The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety, health, and environmental programs at a plant level.
This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities Risk Management Support Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating workplace hazards.
Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments.
Maintain hazard identification records and safety observation reports.
Compliance Assistance Ensure daily adherence to EHS regulations and internal policies.
Ensure all contractors and service providers comply with CVW standards and policies.
Monitor and ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
Maintain EHS doCumentation and records (SOPs, risk assessments, permits, MSDS).
Conduct accident investigations when accidents occur to determine their causes.
Assist with annual Food Safety- and SMETA Audits as well as risk and security aspects of Food Safety.
EHS Reporting & Monitoring Track EHS performance metrics (near misses, incidents, environmental impact).
Generate reports on EHS trends and compliance status for the EHS Risk Controller.
Safety Training & Awareness Organize and deliver toolbox talks, safety drills, and employee training sessions.
Support new employee safety onboarding and refresher training.
Motivate, develop and coach employees.
Environmental Management Support Monitor waste management.
Assist in implementing environmental protection initiatives (spill prevention, energy efficiency ).
Functional Competence-skills and knowledge required for job: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations.
Risk Assessment & Hazard ldentification.

Education: Grade 12 National Diploma in Safety Management Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the health and safety field, preferably in FMCG environment.
