Our client, a well established organisation, is looking for an Engineering lead to join their competitive team. In reporting to the Operation Director, one will be responsible for overseeing the overall project development processes, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and designing system models according to clients' requirements and budget limitations. One will be required to manage the Engineering Department with 2 direct subordinates.

Job Description

In charge of production support (machining, fabrication etc)
Maintain engineering processes and procedures (i.e. welding, heat treatment etc)
Technical assistance / audits at client site
Design in 2D
Modelling in 3D
Review and approval of drawings
Setting and maintaining technical standards
Site visits and equipment inspections
Scope of work creation (client and suppliers)
Provide input and Review QCP’s (Quality Control Plans)
Non-conformance action management for Engineering department
Provide input for Requests for Quotation for Projects, Spare Parts and Repairables
Load, modify, analyse and revise Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Inventory Codes
Extract information and technical data from SAP and other databases
Access/download drawings from SAP R3/B1
Comply with legal and company specific HSEQ requirements
Consider quality and safety in all work performed
Report any quality non-conformance near misses or incidents
Minimum Requirements

Matric
Mechanical Engineering Degree (not negotiable)
+- 5 yrs management experience
3- 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering position
PR Eng will be advantageous
ECSA Registration advantageous
Welding Inspector qualification advantageous
Leadership / Management Diploma
Aluminium smelter equipment experience will be advantageous
Knowledge of Solios/ECL equipment advantageous
Experience with CAD software/Autodesk Inventor
Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and SAP would be advantageous
