Job DescriptionEducation & Experience: Degree in Civil Engineering.
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
Experience in designing Solar PV plants and Substations is desired.
Practical site experience of construction sites (Solar PV plants and Substations) is preferred.
Specific knowledge of Standards and Specifications that apply is necessary.
Experience working with Eskom is advantageous.
Good knowledge of software design packages such as Prokon and Civil 3D is required.
Knowledge of FIDIC and other Engineering & Construction contracts is essential.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity is expected.
Technical Skills Ability to work on CAD and other design software Good technical writing skills Willingness to learn and adapt to technological changes Protection and grading studies Ability to generate detailed bills of quantities (BoQ) Petencies Translate and implement client specifications into designs Understanding of Environmental and regulatory requirements Stormwater management and drainage designs Interpretation of Geotechnical, Hydrological, and Topographical data Assess and select materials based on technical and commercial factors Generate SANS BOQ's from designs Develop cost estimates and write technical clarifications for tenders Manage multiple projects simultaneously Engage professionally with client engineering teams Manage engineering teams and consultants Travel to project sites as required Our Values: At Aurex, we value diversity and embrace different perspectives.
