The diverse portfolio features large-scale renewable-led hybrid power plants for mines, rooftop and ground-mount solar PV plants for industrial clients, and distributed solar PV and battery power solutions for telecommunications sites.As a member of the CrossBoundary Group, founded in 2011, CrossBoundary Energy is dedicated to unlocking the power of capital for sustainable growth and strong returns in underserved markets.Learn more at www.crossboundaryenergy.com.Job DescriptionCrossBoundary Energy is recruiting a full-time Energy Asset Accountant to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa.The Accountant will be responsible for managing all debtor accounts, including monthly invoicing under tight deadlines, revenue collections, customer relationships, as well as customer contract management, ensuring our diverse customer portfolio information, which is located across Africa.In addition, the Accountant would also be responsible for tracking and managing project Opex, including maintaining a list of contractors, liaising with local accountants to ensure all project expenses are accounted for on a monthly basis, tracking EBITDA against forecasts, and providing monthly insights for deviations.The Accountant will work directly with the Senior Asset Manager and the Asset Management team to dynamically run profit and loss of all operational assets in the Energy business.Who You AreThe ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:4+ years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree requiredExperience in SageA self-starter and able to work independentlyEnjoys the challenge of setting up new processes and putting your own stamp on thingsExceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detailAbility to meet deadlinesExcellent technical accounting skillsCA(SA) or CIMA is preferred, but not a requirementPrimary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all aspects of our operational project's monthly Revenue billing process ensuring all invoices are delivered to customers in accordance with PPA due datesResponsible for customer Contract management in Sage, including onboarding of new customers and liaising with Project Implementation teams to ensure smooth transition from Construction to Operations as well as maintaining customer pricing inputs to ensure accurate billingMaintain debtors age analysis with a goal of ensuring all payments are received on or by due dateMaintain O&M contractor information and pricing for each project and liaise with local accountants to ensure all monthly costs are expensed/accrued in accordance with IFRSCoordinate the preparation of the project EBITDA budget and financial forecastAnalyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial impact of any variations from actual performance to budget and forecastAssist with other administration functionsAd hoc duties and support to the asset management and finance teamsLocationCape Town, South AfricaEqual Opportunity EmployerCrossBoundary is an equal opportunity employer.If you need assistance and/or reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or the recruiting process, please send a request.
