KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Developing and Implementing Employee Relations Policies and Procedures: This includes creating and updating policies related to discipline, grievance handling, performance management, and other er-related matters. Ensuring Compliance with Labor Laws: ER Officers must stay updated on relevant legislation and ensure the organization''''''''s practices comply with all applicable regulations. Managing Employee Disputes and Grievances: They investigate and resolve employee complaints, conduct investigations, and facilitate conflict resolution. Providing Guidance and Support to Managers and Employees: ER Officers serve as advisors on er matters, helping managers navigate difficult situations and employees understand their rights and responsibilities. Facilitating Communication: ER Officers promote open communication channels between employees and management, ensuring that employees feel heard and valued. Analysing Employee Relations Trends: They monitor internal trends related to employee morale, engagement, and productivity, and identify areas for improvement. Working with Unions: In organizations with unions, ER Officers may be involved in collective bargaining and negotiations. Developing and Implementing Training Programs: · They may design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on ER-related topics, such as conflict resolution and harassment prevention. Maintaining accurate Records: ER Officers are responsible for documenting er-related incidents, investigations, and outcomes. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Matric / grade 12, A diploma or bachelor''''''''s degree in human resources, labour relations, or a related field, A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in hr, with a focus on employee relations or labor relations, Strong knowledge of labor laws and conflict resolution skills, A solid foundation in hr principles, labour law, and conflict resolution techniques,A blend of technical and soft skills, encompassing effective communication, conflict resolution, and in-depth knowledge of labor laws, company policies, and hr practices KEY IMPORTANT CONTACTS: Staff members, Management, CCMA etc BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: A strong understanding of labor laws Conflict resolution Negotiation skills DESIRED SKILLS: Strong communication and people skills: er officers need to be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills: they must be able to effectively manage disputes and resolve conflicts. Knowledge of employment law: a strong understanding of labor laws and regulations is essential. Analytical skills: er officers need to be able to analyse data and identify trends. Organizational skills: they must be able to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
