We are looking to hire an experienced Electrician (Solar / PV) to oversee our company's electrical and solar planning, installation, and maintenance.
The ideal candidate must be confident in testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.The successful candidate should have extensive experience working with solar systems, including repairs and maintenance of all solar and electrical equipment components, with a good understanding of their functionality.
They must also have a deep understanding of electrical solar systems, policies, procedures, and standards according to regulations.They should be able to identify potential issues early and take steps to mitigate problems before they become serious.ResponsibilitiesAssessments of electrical installations (e.g., DB assessments).Ensure quality assurance of electrical installations.Install data logging equipment to monitor plant power consumption.Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.Advise management on potential hazards related to equipment operation.Update or create internal SLDs for properties and solar projects.Maintain records, prepare reports, and assist with procurement.Follow industry standards and safety guidelines.Determine critical vs. non-critical load splits.Plan resources and provide training.Perform maintenance, inspections, and corrective actions on PV modules, inverters, and other components.Monitor plant performance and respond to alarms.Diagnose and replace faulty PV panels and equipment.Conduct infrared scans of panels, transformers, and inverters.Maintain hybrid solar/diesel systems, including batteries.Risk ManagementPrepare cost estimates and proposals.Monitor project costs and address potential issues.Develop and execute project schedules.Conduct risk assessments and prepare reports.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and minimize risks.RequirementsMinimum N3 with Electrical qualification.Red Seal qualification preferred.At least 5 years of utility experience.Minimum 3 years working knowledge of PV plants.Experience in building assessments and drawing SLDs.Experience with LV, MV, and HV switching procedures.Knowledge of power system protection.Ability to interpret single line diagrams and schematics.Ability to analyze data and identify trends.SkillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong organization and time management skills.Friendly, helpful, and service-oriented.Commitment to high ethical standards.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Sound decision-making abilities.Attention to detail and accuracy.
