Primary Duties as DTPThe main responsibilities include preparing and setting up jobs for print, which involves:Processing client artwork for print, including clothing jobsCreating visualsFollowing setup proceduresAll jobs must be processed from scratch, as artwork may differ from previous similar jobs.
Artwork must be cross-checked between the job card and the visual, ensuring:Sizing is correctArtwork placement is accurateTemplate setup is correctInformation, details, and delivery date are correct and validColours are provided in CMYK, Pantone, or included as samplesCorrect substrates are chosen, matching the visual and job cardAny queries or concerns regarding the above should be escalated to management.
The job card must be signed off upon completion of setup.Setup and Quality ChecksPerform test prints, which must be signed off by the designer before bulk printingVerify the template if using a previous setup, ensuring its correctness in relation to the new job cardCheck Pantones, CMYK values, or samples against the artwork and provided samplesFollow checking procedures to ensure:No elements have dropped off the artworkClipping masks are correctly appliedNo banding lines or glitches are presentText is accurate and properly placedNo transparency issuesAd Hoc and General AdministrationPerform general administrative duties as necessaryKeep the workstation clean and organizedAssist management as requiredPerform related duties assigned by managementMaintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
