Tertiatry Qualifications:

Bachelor of Pharmacy;
Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.

Computer Leteracy Level:

Highly proficient in Excel/PowerPoint for data management and reporting

Job-related requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in either Warehousing, Distribution or Production in the Pharmacy sector.

A proven track record and managerial experience;
Ability to interpret pharmacy legislation and prepare and implement necessary policies, procedures and codes of practice;
Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach and continuously develop pharmaceutical quality, and other related obligations; and

An understanding of quality assurance and audit processes in relation to the pharmaceutical industry and associated quality management systems.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Main purpose of the Role:

The successful incumbent will be obligated to ensure adherence to statutory requirements as outlined in the Pharmacy Act 53/1974, Medicines and Related Substances Control Act 101/1965 and all associated regulations. Commitment to quality in respect of pharmaceutical product integrity remains pivotal, with the incumbent acting as the responsible pharmacist to regulatory authorities, whether domestic or foreign

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assume responsibility for all compliance obligations set forth in the Pharmacy Act 53/1974, Medicines and Related Substances Act 101/1965 and associated regulations on behalf of the DSV Solutions’ business unit;
Liaison to pharmaceutical regulatory bodies whilst fulfilling the role of Responsible Pharmacist;
Upholding GxP principles at the DSV Solutions Gauteng Park wholesale pharmacy;
Maintenance of DSV Solutions Gauteng Park site master file;
Maintain the flow of product and ensure accurate record keeping;
Co-ordinate repackaging of medicines, as and when required;
Co-ordinate the destruction of medicine according to client- and regulatory requirements, as and when required;
Aid in remedying warehouse control- and management system discrepancies;
Active participation in stock disposition decisions in respect of product damage(s), market returns, product recalls and product complaints (pharmacovigilance);
Formulation of pharmacist roster (whether permanent- or locum staff) to ensure continued direct supervision of the wholesale pharmacy;
Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, process flows and / or other written documentation in pursuit of pharmaceutical quality;
Manage operational performance of DSV Solutions Gauteng Park wholesale pharmacy to aid continual improvement;
Develop annual audit schedule for submission to reporting manager;
Facilitate and conduct both internal- and external audits, including but not limited to, procedure self-inspections, supplier-, client- and regulatory audits;
Active participation in CAPA process to ensure successful closure of identified shortcomings;
Submission of audit reports in respect of internal- and external audits, including but not limited to, procedure self-inspections, supplier-, client- and regulatory audits;
Support the maintenance of DSV’s central reporting repository in respect of DSV Solutions Gauteng Park SLA’s;
Data analysis, report execution and process improvement in support of solution development, implementation and operational excellence, as and when required;
Co-ordinate and manage pharmacist assistants’ training program;
Act as tutor to pharmacist assistants and be registered as such with the South African Pharmacy Council;
Close relations (including training & coaching) with Operational team members, Projects and Engineering-, DSV Learning and Development department, business units and DSV clients in the development and implementation of customised solutions;
Review temperature monitoring equipment and related data, as and when required;
Active participation with facilities’ resources and infrastructure maintenance including but not limited to temperature probes, scale calibration and related;
Manage staff members reporting to this role whist ensuring all associated practice activities are executed in a safe and timeous manner; and
Conduct disciplinary enquiries as per prescribed procedures, when required.
