Our client has a big solar/substation project in Upington and is looking for a Draftsman, to start in June 2024.Job Title: DraftsmanLocation: Upington, South AfricaSalary: Market relatedClosing date: End May 2024Employment Type: Contract work As a Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in the design and development phases of the solar project. Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Ensure that all drawings and plans adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Revise and update drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.Assist in the preparation of permit applications and documentation required for project approval.Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to obtain necessary technical information and specifications.Support the construction phase by providing accurate drawings and responding to on-site queries as needed.Maintain organized documentation and records of all drawings and revisions.Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, drafting, or a related field.6 years' experience as a draftsman, preferably in the renewable energy or construction industry.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and plans.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations for solar energy projects.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.Knowledge of solar energy systems and components is a plus. By submitting your information and application you hereby confirm:1.
