Requirements
An Honours degree in Accounting, Financial Management or similar area
A registered Accountant with a recognised accounting body such as ACCA/CIA/CIMA/SAIBA/SAICA/SAIPA or similar would be an advantage.
Ten years relevant experience of which five should be in a managerial position.
Three years proven exposure to debtors, revenue management, electronic financial systems and reconciliations of sub-systems.
A high level of communication efficiency and effectiveness.
Higher education sector experience would be an advantage.
Duties
Strategic direction and alignment
Manage all University Revenue and ensure correct allocations as well as enhancing University debt recovery mechanisms
Manage Student finance management including but not limited to NSFAS and other student funding agencies.
Manage University treasury including the Banking Services, Treasury Management as well as Cash Management
Management of University Investments
Ensure compliance with University policies as well as legislation and reporting requirements by various bodies e.g. NSFAS
Ensure compliance with IFRS as well as ensure accurate data is captured on the audited financial statements
Manage stakeholders as well as initiate, foster and maintain strategic alliances with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with University policies and managing both Human and Financial Resources within the directorate.
