The environment of Advancement and Partnerships Office has a permanent position for a Director: Advancement and Partnerships at the Pretoria Campus. The Director will head the Advancement and Partnership operations. The purpose of this position is to provide strategic direction and leadership in the implementation of an integrated, comprehensive internal and external university advancement strategy that will support the Tshwane University of Technology's endeavours for fundraising, alumni relations, advancement services, donor stewardship and community liaison. Further responsibilities include people management, budget and financial management and health and safety management.
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
Strategy Development, monitoring and execution of strategic and business plans
Managing and ensuring the effective functioning of the Advancement Advisory Committee (AAC).
Maintain an effective Alumni Relations and engagement strategy.
Management of Proposal and Report Submissions
Management of Stewardship to Foundations
Responsible for Policy and Procedure Development
Quality Assurance and Risk Management
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
Resource Management: Finances and Human Resources
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
A relevant Master's Degree
A relevant Doctorate Degree would be a recommendation
Experience:
At least 5 years' experience working in an established advancement/development area with fundraising as a focus area;
Experience and proven track record in Alumni relations preferably in an academic institution/NGO environment.
Excellent understanding of foundations and the university environment;
Extensive knowledge of and personal experience with research and teaching in higher education;
Strategic planning and implementation exposure;
Project management experience;
Demonstrated ability to network and work with a wide range of different constituencies internally and externally
Experience and maturity to work effectively with the Advancement Advisory Committee of Council
