Digital content writer
Spinneys, the UAE’s premium supermarket retailer that has taken the lead in the region for 60 years, is looking for a passionate and creative copywriter to join its Content division. Working in close collaboration with the content, marketing, commercial and ecommerce teams, the ideal candidate will ultimately support the digital editor, social media manager and content manager with the creation and storytelling for Spinneys e-commerce site, spinneys.com.
Key to success in this role is the ability to understand what messages are most relevant to Spinneys’ customers and how to deliver innovative, on-trend, educational and inspirational content to a diverse market in the most effective manner.
Responsibilities:
As the digital content writer, you will play a significant role in engaging Spinneys’ ecommerce customers and creating a best-in-class customer experience on spinneys.com.
You will research/write/compile a range of concise, informative, and engaging digital content daily for spinneys.com. Content includes, but is not limited to, in-depth product descriptions that present a balance of creative and technical aspects, journal articles (related to food, lifestyle and well-being trends) and newsletters.
You will also be required to upload recipes – adding necessary nutritional information and tweaking copy for SEO purposes.
Along with the digital editor, you analyse monthly digital reports. Keeping an obsessive eye on data, trends and analytics.
As an enthusiastic team player, you will, along with the digital editor, act as the link between Spinneys’ commercial, marketing, creative and ecommerce departments.
Requirements:
A degree in English and/or communications is preferred.
A minimum of three years working as a digital writer. Experience with food/grocery ecommerce is an advantage, but is not essential.
An engaging writing style and the ability to tweak this to suit the Spinneys tone and voice.
Impeccable grammar as well as strong sub-editing and proof-reading skills.
Excellent working knowledge of varied content management systems.
Solid understanding of SEO.
Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics. Added reporting/listening tool experience is an advantage.
A clear and confident communicator and team player.
Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage and prioritise workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding and ever-evolving environment.
Ability to think outside the box, blending a creative sensibility with commercial know-how.
An interest in food, wellness, and lifestyle industries.
Contacts/evident working relationships with key food and lifestyle brands/players in the region would be an advantage.
