Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Diesel Mechanic with a specialized skill and experience in Diesel Engines - in the Underground Mining sector located in Steelpoort, Limpopo. The Mechanic will be responsible for tasks such as heavy duty engine maintenance, service, repair and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools in underground mining operations.Candidates MUST have experience with installing, repairing, assembling and servicing of DEUTZ, KILOSKAR, CUMMINS, CAT, JOHN DEERE, PERKINS engines and working UNDERGROUND experience in the mining sector is a non-negotiable requirement. Qualifications and RequirementsRed Seal Diesel Mechanic/Similar trade (non negotiable)Technical background with 5 years' + experience as a Field Service TechnicianPrevious experience with diagnostic tools and softwareAdvanced knowledge of diesel engine components and fuel systemsGood fault finding and problem solving skillsGood interpersonal and communication skillsAttention to detailAble to work under pressureAble to work overtimeValid drivers license and own reliable transportMedically fit for open cast and underground mining environmentMust reside in Steelpoort region or willing to relocate Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo repair, service and maintain underground vehicles and machinery to OEM standard and correctly diagnose problemsTo ensure correct, timeous fault finding and problem solvingTimeously obtain the correct sparesDaily checks on all equipment with corrective actionsAdhere to all safety requirementsEnsure good client relations
