MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo support the Nursing Manager in leading and coordinating safe, quality patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASSupport the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives.Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety in line with specified clinical outcomes.Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks.Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent and engaged workforce and other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines.Lead and manage direct reports.Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes.REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/diploma in nursing, Appropriate leadership/management qualification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g.
Unit Manager.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 – 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEInfection prevention and control.Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.Productivity management in nursing.Clinical risk management.Nursing functional knowledge.Knowledge and experience in auditing and accreditation processes.Human resource processes including employee relations.All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa.
