Key responsibilities will include: - The overall purpose of this position is focused on being accountable for the entire credit management process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit review of existing customers, - The assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers and managing the credit control department with the goal of optimizing company sales and minimizing bad debt losses. - Manage relations with collection agencies, credit bureaus and credit insurance providers, - Manage relations with the sales department and customers, - Ensure compliance with statutory and credit insurance policy requirements, - Maintain corporate credit policy by reviewing and recommending changes if necessary, for management approval and implementation, - Manage and monitor the credit granting process of customer applications and staff recommendations, - Conduct periodic credit reviews, - Monitor the deductions being taken by customers, - Manage the application of late fees, - Optimise the company's cash flow, - Lead and manage the employee-engagement and training and development initiatives to ensure a competent and high-performing credit management team. The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements: - A Minimum qualification of a Credit Management Diploma, - Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or Business, - At least 5 years' experience in a credit management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment, - Strong knowledge and background of credit related laws and practices, - Have considerable experience with customer negotiations - Willingness to travel to customer sites, - Display a practical hands-on approach with the ability to problem-solve and take corrective action, - Good analytical skills and attention to detail, - Strong computer capability with Accounting and Microsoft Office packages SA Citizens only.
