NBC Holdings is seeking a candidate with strong management, consulting, new business, and administrative skills, who has a thorough understanding of and a passion for Employee Benefits.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Consultants and oversee other departments that form part of the representation in the Western Cape.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consulting:

Manage income received per client/service through client retention.
Develop a measurable revenue increase strategy to enhance income/profit with consulting/stakeholder relationship staff within existing clients.
Manage and strengthen client relations at all levels.
Retain clients and manage member and union relations through stakeholder consulting.
Handle competitor interventions at existing clients.
Develop annual plans for each client to ensure effective execution of all activities as per SLA/Fund rules.
Attend and take ownership of all client caucus meetings, negotiations, strategies, and entertainment.
Maximize services/products at existing client level and implement interaction strategies.
Maintain the client's status as a trusted knowledge hub.
Deeply understand client needs, operations, and processes to provide solutions and products.
Attend all staff meetings under supervision or for non-FIAS compliant staff.
Develop and deliver high-level presentations and proposals to clients.
Assist with and approve quotations and tender documents for new business/services.
Sign off on high-level communications to clients and service providers.
Provide technical support and industry knowledge to clients and staff.
Manage all high-level client interactions and negotiations.
Drive and authorize fee negotiations and increases at the client level.
Present cost comparisons and analysis to clients.
Assist with managing complex matters and ensure fund compliance within rules and SLAs.
Assist clients and consultants with trustee resolutions, signing off investment instructions, and legislative communication.
Support changes in board compositions and strategic drives for trustees.
Prepare for trustee meetings and ensure action items are addressed.
Ensure high-quality, accurate interactions with clients, identifying risks and account growth opportunities.
Achieve targets for new business development in the Western Cape and willingness to travel regionally.
Perform any other ad hoc duties.
People Management:

Manage and evaluate the consulting team's work against KPIs and client strategies.
Participate actively in the career and personal development of team members.
Provide inspirational leadership to maintain a motivated, high-performing team.
Promote teamwork and ensure all consultants are FAIS compliant, assisting with client advice as needed.
Offer training, coaching, and support, and develop succession plans for key positions.
Recruit new staff as needed, seeking talent to enhance team expertise.
Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments at the Cape Town branch.
Branch Management:

Prepare income and expense budgets for various cost centers.
Manage controllable expenses and oversee petty cash.
Authorize travel expenses, vendor payments, and office expenditures.
Negotiate vendor contracts and manage invoices and outstanding payments.
Manage health and safety for office staff and approve office decisions and expenses.
Authorize pool car usage and ensure policy compliance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant tertiary qualification.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in Employee Benefits Consulting, including 3 years in management.
Strong industry knowledge, negotiation skills, and stakeholder relationship experience.
FAIS compliant / RE5 certification.
Business acumen, leadership, administrative skills, and influential industry connections.
Strong negotiation, presentation, financial, and relationship-building skills.
