In this role, you will perform general cooking duties using standardized recipes and perform other preparation and sanitation duties as required.

The result is a knowledgeable workforce that is in touch with every nuance of our clients' needs.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTake customer orders and prepare food to their specifications.Prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups, fruits, bakery products and other forms of food.Prepare and cook food for special diets from recipes formulated by qualified personnel.Assist in on-the-job training and direct the work of food service workers, students and other employees within area of assignment.Plan and manage work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time.Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.Grill, cook, and fry foods.Notify supervisor of food and supplies needed.
Check in food and supplies as necessary.Maintain food production records.Clean kitchen, kitchen utensils and equipment; secure refrigerator and freezer.Serve food as required.
Maintain maximum standards of sanitation and safety.Promptly report equipment and food quality to kitchen manager.Use our Standardized Recipe Card for preparing all products.Must be able to do shift work - nightshift.Skills and CompetenciesIndependent worker.Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.Customer focused.Ability to effectively multitask.Attention to detail.Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.2 - 4 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.QualificationsMatric.Relevant qualification.
