COMMUNITY ASSETS OFFICER Main activities *Facilitate an effective Community Asset Transfer programme enabling non-profit organisations to take on the management and use of community facilities. The role is predominantly expected to be across Greater London, but will require some flexibility for National travel to meet business demands.
*Promoting opportunities to the Voluntary Community Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
*Liaising with residents and resident groups to understand and support a positive transfer experience, and community relationships.
*Assisting in panel decision making negotiating agreements to occupy.
*Supporting community organisations to ensure they are managing risk, and have the capability to manage community activities and spaces.
*To assist community organisations to make the Assets financially and socially sustainable. For example providing guidance, coaching, or signposting or also commissioning training or more in-depth independent advice where needed in topics such as business planning, finance, governance, funding and investment sources, social impact.

Experience and Pre-Qualification criteria:
*Experience of being involved in Community Asset Transfers is desirable, or related experience and expertise in the VCSE sector gained from working in a similar or related role.
*A good understanding of the challenges and opportunities for non-profit organisations is essential (e.g. residents associations, small charities, social enterprise, and community asset development).
*Knowledge of opportunities for capacity-building support or growth.
*Strong literacy for assessing and developing applications, business plans, budgets etc.
*Comfortable working remotely from the team, and acting as a self-starter with a can-do, problem-solving attitude.
*Personal integrity and a proven ability and desire to collaborate with colleagues, community organisations and tenants.
