A reputable and well-established company seeks a Communications Specialist with experience in the healthcare and financial services sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of the company’s marketing and communication strategy. This position requires someone with strong communication skills specifically in the financial services sector, a key focus on attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work.
Writing, editing and proof-reading external promotional material such as brochures, fact sheets, presentations, videos, scripts and infographics
Repurposing content for various platforms
Coordinating and managing of company promotional material such as annual reports, newsletters, brochures and fact sheets, as well as the internal and external distribution thereof.
Creation of communication plans
Craft communications plans and messages that resonate with various target audiences across a range of platforms
Simplifying information and structuring communication to empower and educate target audiences
The ability to craft communication for specific platforms including digital
Writing SEO-friendly copy (for website and digital platforms)
Assisting with newsletters
Writing magazine articles
Copy for marketing campaigns and projects
Editing of marketing copy before project completion
Understanding the message the client is seeking to deliver and translating this into attractive copy
Writing copy that will engage the reader
Keeping copy consistent and identifiable
Producing creative ideas for innovative campaigns
Follow communications guidelines and procedures
Assist with the implementation and execution of the media and communications strategy
Work with the communication, marketing, digital and design teams to ensure that messages are accurately conveyed in the most appropriate medium
Tertiary qualifications in related field essential (journalism, communications, public relations)
Five to eight years’ experience preferably in financial services and/or healthcare
Medical aid experience a bonus
SEO experience and skills
Strong editing and proofreading skills
Fully MS Office literate essential
Deadline-driven with the ability to work well under pressure
Experience in writing strong, succinct copy that is grammatically correct
Strong research skills that ensure all copy is correct and accurate
HTML knowledge an advantage
Great organisational skills
An eye for detail and a desire for perfection
The ability to think creatively and translate ideas into copy
