The overall purpose of the role: The primary focus of the Communication Lead is to lead the development and execution of an integrated communication strategy for Sanlam Corporate. This includes assessing business needs, proposing communication solutions, and offering strategic advice to design strategies and campaigns that effectively engage a wide array of stakeholders, both externally and internally. The goal is to ensure these communications activities are aligned with and support the SC client value proposition and make a significant impact on the intended audiences.Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of an integrated communications and engagement plan for internal and external stakeholders Lead and support the communication team in delivering communication initiatives to all stakeholders Lead development and improvement of key digital communication channels for SC Identify and present opportunities for consistency in messaging and customer experience across channels and all external communication. Lead in-house and external graphic designers, photographers, and other media-production specialists integral to the completion of communication projects. Develop of internal and external communications protocols to enhance consistency and support reputation management Monitor, analyse & report on campaigns and communications campaigns/strategies in collaboration with the various SC business. Identify opportunities to leverage and collaborate with communications colleagues across Sanlam Group on projects and campaigns that are relevant for SC Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations or related field (Postgraduate qualification would be advantageous) At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (experience in the insurance industry would be advantageous) Highly developed project and time management skills Excellent critical thinking, writing, and oral communication skills Proven knowledge and understanding of best writing and messaging practices for business and general correspondence, public relations, marketing and social media Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Highly developed attention to detail Knowledge and Skills: Enthusiastic, energetic attitude A specialist who operates well in a small team Well organised and able to work in a multi-tasked environment Self-starter with the ability to use own initiative and invent solutions Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external client expectations Culturally sensitive and skilled at developing content for diverse audiences Proven experience creating targeted content An appetite for continuous development of own communication skills and expertise, and an eagerness to champion this learning internally Personal Qualities: Flexible and Adaptable - Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations.
