Job description

This role works closely within the global marketing and communications function, but specifically in the Communications team and is responsible for supporting other members of the wider communications team to ensure all content, portals and campaigns are planned and delivered in a timely manner for the company. The person will be involved in assisting the digital content and communications leaders to ensure the day to day management of the company’s digital media platforms is performed. The role will also assist with planned and ad-hoc external and internal communications. ?
The ideal candidate lives and breathes clear, concise and accurate communications, delivers a high standard of planning and execution, is a team player and collaborates on all elements of the planning cycle. ?
The ideal candidate will have a communications background and have experience in digital media channels and managing communication projects from inception to final output. They must have a high attention to detail, strong writing abilities, basic presentation and design skills, and great organisational skills working to strict deadlines. They must be used to working on many creative projects simultaneously. Ideally, they must also have experience of working within the finance sector. Experience in digital marketing and Google Analytics will be beneficial.
The individual must be pragmatic, able to work independently and with a team across different time zones. They must also be conscientious by seeing every project through to the end. Therefore, a relentless focus, strong attention to detail, professional and a can-do attitude are essential to the role.
They must be receptive to feedback from all levels, especially senior business leaders across our global business.
This is a full-time position, based in Cape Town.
Key responsibilities

Direct report:
Report to the Digital Content Manager, Marketing and Communications
Operating model:
Assist others in the team to ensure that content plans are prepared, approved and implemented.
Assist others in the team to ensure that monthly and close out reports are prepared timeously.
Create and update digital media and website analytics reports by extracting and interpreting data from reporting tools.
Analyse campaigns and translates the data into recommendations and plans for optimising and improving digital campaigns to ensure delivery of business outcomes.
Assist others in the team to manage the paid media schedules.
Build visibility and credibility by attending industry talks and reviewing our own social media presence such as #sannelife.
Engage with the broader marketing team within the business and takes time to help others in their understanding of how social media (LinkedIn in particular) can assist with business outcomes.
Assist others in the team to conduct keyword research including cataloguing and indexing target keyword phrases.
Assist others in the team to implement ongoing SEO activity and track accordingly, reporting back to business leaders.
Ongoing management of the media list, ensuring all relevant contacts are updated where necessary.
Assist others in the team with the creation and timely distribution of internal communications on an ad hoc basis.
Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.
Accept and lives the company values.
Contribute towards a high-performance team functioning.
Functional responsibility:
Work closely with others in Communications team and contribute to the delivery of advertising campaigns for the various Sanne products/ businesses across LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as well as search engine marketing.
Assist the wider communication team on external and internal communication initiatives, when needed.
Make recommendations on how to use paid media on display and social channels to drive engagement and deliver on business objectives for the various businesses within Sanne.
Support integrated marketing campaigns and projects by recommending activity on search engines and social channels to drive the marketing objectives; and then execute these recommendations and reporting on the outcomes.
Assist others in the team to manage the publishing of approved content, with discretion to identify risks and opportunities to social feedback.
Use the full suite of tools and software procured by Sanne to deliver relevant, customised reports to the business on a regular basis.
Risk and regulatory:
Ensure all communications adhere to agreed signoff matrix and has gone through the approval process.
Be fully aware of all regulatory and legislative constraints across the Group.
Ensure adverts and brand related artwork, literature and advising, adheres to the relevant product, country and Group messages.
Business development:
Assist senior communications team members by contributing to business digital content and assist other members of the Global Marketing & Corporate Communications team.
Ensure all work adheres to brand guidelines as approved by the brand team.
Ensure all activity in market (in social / digital markets and portals) adheres to communications signoff matrix and best practice.
Brand:
Ensure all uses of the brand follow the agreed brand guidelines.
Ensure all new requested work goes through appropriate marketing procedures and sign-offs to ensure it is ‘on-brand’.
Ensure high attention to detail in all marketing designs which are executed, and executed by others, to follow the same standard of high-quality documentation.
Assist brand team members and the wider Global Marketing & Corporate Communications team on brand strategy where appropriate.
Requirements

2 to 3 + years’ communications experience (experience within the financial services sector will be beneficial).
Clear communication style both written and verbal, in English an absolute must.
Good experience / expertise in digital marketing, SEO, Google Adwords, keyword activity and lead generation through online portal management will be beneficial.
Good experience / expertise in the full spectrum of marketing specifically PR, communications and event management.
Experience with Google Analytics. Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaigns and other digital marketing platforms.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, both face-to-face and via telephone/ video conferencing.
Advanced skill level of Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience in working closely with Senior Executives in function and more broadly across the business.
Collaborative spirit, ability and desire to work with marketing function team who are located globally.
Demonstrable initiative, enthusiasm and can-do attitude to be a team player, ability to multi-task, develop detailed plans, be self-sufficient in prioritising, organising workloads, planning ahead and encouraging colleagues at all levels.
Willingness to roll up sleeves and deliver hands-on help as part of the global team – working late if needed in order to deliver the high standards expected.
Ability to work to deadlines and work under pressure.
Good inter-personal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships.
Strong experience in creating high quality documentation and using pre-defined brand templates.
Big picture thinking and part of an international Group and team, but requires local focus, implementation and accountability.
