Committee Officer

Are you an experienced governance professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring compliance at the highest level? A prestigious organisation is looking for a Committee Officer to provide governance, secretariat, and full administrative support to key Committees. This pivotal role also involves offering crucial assistance to the Chief Risk Officers office. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage periodic and ad hoc Committee meetings, ensuring seamless preparation and distribution of agendas and meeting packs. Accurately compile and distribute meeting minutes, action lists, and resolutions while ensuring proper follow-up and monitoring of Committee decisions. Maintain precise and up-to-date records, adhering to statutory filing requirements and data protection protocols under the POPI Act. Provide expert advice to Committee Members on their duties and responsibilities under the Companies Act, King IV, and PFMA . Facilitate the orientation and training of new Committee Members on governance policies and practices. Support the Chief Risk Officer with governance-related projects and engagements with internal and external auditors. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A degree in Law, Finance, Audit, or Accounting . At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Committee Officer, ideally within a credit or investment environment. Solid knowledge of the Companies Act, PFMA, King IV, and other governance frameworks . Strong experience engaging with internal and external auditors, legal advisors, and high-level executives . Advanced proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Diligent Boards . Excellent communication, organisation, and report-writing skills.
