CLINICAL PHARMACISTKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASProvide Clinical Pharmacy Services to the hospital.Initiate and implement the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme and enhance the appropriate utilisation of antimicrobials.Provide information related to pharmaceutical utilisation, trends, strategies and medication to the hospital.Mitigate and support the management of pharmaceutical risks in the hospital.Ensure accurate dispensing where applicable.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONMpharm or relevant postgraduate degreeDesired Education: Antimicrobial Stewardship course, Infection Prevention and Control related course2 years experience as a Ward or Clinical PharmacistDesired experience: Experience in managing an Antimicrobial Stewardship ProgrammeREQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEAntimicrobial stewardship processes and proceduresEthical pharmaceuticalsKnowledge of the pharmacy and related healthcare industryRelevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965)Development of pharmaceutical guidelines and protocolsKnowledge of quality improvement methodologiesSurgical pharmaceuticalsDevelop patient treatment plans.Knowledge and experience working with relevant pharmacy systems (e.g. UNISOLV; AS400)Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
