Business Analyst - Retail - Durban Or Jhb And Cpt - Contract

Our Client a global tech firm is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team in Durban (or remote for candidates in JHB and CPT) on a contract basis. We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst with proven experience in both the retail and financial sectors. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, delivering data-driven insights to support decision-making, optimize operations, and drive profitability. Responsibilities: Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement in retail and financial operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Develop financial models, forecasts, and performance reports. Conduct market and competitor analysis to support strategic planning. Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT and development teams. Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including UAT and training. Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights to improve sales, margins, and customer experience. Work closely with finance teams on budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. Create dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in retail and/or financial services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). Experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Understanding of retail metrics (e.g., sales per square foot, inventory turnover) and financial principles (e.g., P&L, ROI).
