You will manage a team of technical resources who develop and support the ETL production environment within a greater BI focused department. The role covers managing and developing systems, applications, data processes and a real-time stream processing system as a single and comprehensive source for business data, reports and intelligence. Day-to-day tasks would include managing the implementation of new processes into production, troubleshooting existing processes, optimizing code and system as well as stakeholder management. The candidate should indicate that they can code/build complex packages. Experience in the development of complex packages or systems including design elements and troubleshooting. This position is a BI Operations Manager role where an applicant will monthly rotationally look after development Data Engineer squad with their Data Development Manager. Working together with Data Development Manager to manage a team of technical resources who develop and support the WH ETL production environment within a BI focused department. The role covers managing and maintaining infrastructure, systems, applications and a real-time data where required. The Candidate will guide the team on requests solutions design. Candidate will develop, optimize and automate production processes for the WH environment. Job Responsibilities Ensure that development deliverables, targets and expectations are clearly understood and aligned to internal strategies. Ensure that development is tracked and managed against schedule, risks are identified and mitigated, production is quality assured, delivery and progress are within budget and timelines, and stakeholders are informed. Facilitate technical problem identification and resolution; keep maintenance team focused on quality output and the achievement of service levels. Keep team members informed of the impact of management decisions and business priorities. Engage business requirements and review required data warehouse functionality. Ensure business continuity and capacity planning are complete; including strategic projects and budgeting. Guide the conversations and decision making regarding the technical specification design process. Engage and manage internal stakeholder and external vendor relationships. Manage the negotiation of contracts and SLA's and ensure that all external vendor agreements are complete and in place. Build working partnerships with key players and balance business requests, business rules and system capability in delivering useful data. Engage stakeholder needs and requests and interpret, advice and facilitate suitable solutions and decisions. Ensure that relationships are productive and delivery satisfies time and value requirements. Manage stakeholder service delivery and support. Manage people performance according to expectations and ensure that staff are proactive and productive. Address skill gaps and arrange for training and/or development. Manage individual and team concerns and issues/challenges that are escalated to management. Manage the operational budget for the unit; including variances and authorisation of expenditure. Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Relevant 4 year B.Comm or B.Sc degree, business management post grad qualification.
