Position Outputs• Perform component machining to OEM and customer specifications on conventional and CNC machines, including Crank Grinder, Surface Grinder and Rottler CNC• Edit and write programs for CNC machines..• Set up and operate machinery for production, including reworking metal to create blueprint designs.• Measure and verify calculations prior to setting up machinery and ensure quality and productivity standards are consistently met.• Maintain a safe working environment, control contamination, and keep a clean and organized working area.• Control own administration, including labour booking, service reports, part returns, and expenses.• Read and understand blueprint designs and interpret drawings in both metric and imperial measurements.• Service, maintain, and repair plant and equipment, including routine maintenance of machinery.• Produce accurate customer service reports and examine and rate parts in accordance with Caterpillar reusability guidelines.• Demonstrate effective self-management and performance ownership, adhering to all policies and procedures.Qualification, Experience and Competencies• N4-N6 in Machining/Mechanical Engineering or Qualified in relevant trade (Automotive Machinist)• 5+ years of experience in machining, including experience with conventional and CNC machines.• Proficient in CNC programming, with experience in Rottler controls• Proficient in machining operations, including grinding, polishing, milling, and drilling.• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings in both metric and imperial measurements.• Experience in the mining or heavy equipment industry, will be an advantage• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment and reusability guidelines, will be an advantage.• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining problems.• Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.• Drivers licence – Code B• Used part inspection and evaluation skills
