Our client is seeking anAthlete Services Coordinatorto join their team, based in Port Elizabeth.Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire athlete experience, within the South African Portfolio, from the setup of online registrations, athlete queries, website management, bib allocation, athlete communication via e-mails, registration onsite, athlete welfare, awards ceremony, and any post event procedures.Minimum Requirements:-Bachelor's Degree or vocational school ideally in Administration, Economy, Sport, or endurance/event businessRelevant experience in the sport event area or customer serviceStrong administrative skills and high attention to detail - while the role requires 'hands on' work at event, meticulous planning and documenting thereof is required as the job is primarily desk boundStrong customer service mindset with a calm, friendly and positive demeanourAbility to work under pressureAttention to detailTeam playerExcellent computer skills in MS Office, especially ExcelEnthusiasm for sport: knowledge of triathlon, cycling and trail preferred but not essentialAbility to travel and work in sports events on weekends Duties:-Work across IRONMAN Events (Port Elizabeth) and Mountain Biking Events (Cape Town)Customer ServiceDay to day athlete enquiries and services, answering emails and phone callsEMEA Athlete Services ProjectsTake part in cross regional projectsGive constructive input into team calls and team initiatives e.g., office meetings, off-site department meetings & Microsoft Teams meetingsDocumentationPrepare any key documentation from an Athlete Services Perspective for global approvalEvent Duties - complete pre, during and post event tasks to a high standard including but not limited to:-Prepare various Athlete GuidesMaintenance of the registration platform including setting up new eventsPlanning and oversee the registration layout, build, onsite running including volunteer briefingsLead on the race office (mountain biking)Support with delivery of any additional services for riders, pre, during and post eventWork closely with the local federation, timing partner and other partners to ensure the smooth execution of eventsAssist with bulk orderingDeal with all post event related tasks such as timing result issues, athlete complaints and lost property
