Assistant Manager - Credit Risk

ENVIRONMENT:A leading global full-service commercial bank, offering corporate, personal, and investment banking, wealth management, and treasury services, is looking to appoint an Assistant Manager to review and analyse credit applications submitted by the Corporate Banking and Treasury divisions.
The role includes assessing risk through the evaluation of internal credit ratings and monitoring post-loan management reports.DUTIES:Credit Analysis & Risk ReviewReview credit limit and transaction applications, providing risk-based opinions.Validate internal credit rating applications and ensure accuracy.Administer the Drawdown Centre process and procedures.Ensure all processes comply with internal policies and manuals.Policy Compliance & Post-Lending MonitoringEnsure compliance with credit policies; monitor risks such as counterparty concentration, credit limit expiries, and covenant adherence.Conduct ongoing post-lending monitoring, identifying risk changes and triggers, and offering recommendations based on findings.Monitor past dues, non-performing assets, and manage loan write-offs.Credit Administration & CollaborationCollaborate with Front Office to resolve policy breaches.Maintain monitoring tools for credit limits and ratings, ensuring timely renewals.Ensure annual post-lending reports are completed and track excess exposures.Facilitate roll-overs and ensure Front Office Departments adhere to interest period requirements.Committee Support & Secretarial DutiesManage meeting scheduling and documentation for Credit Committees and Deal Forums.Draft meeting minutes and maintain records.REQUIREMENTSFormal QualificationsBCom in Finance, Economics, or related field (Essential)Postgraduate qualification in Finance (Desirable)Experience2-5 years in Banking/Financial Services (Essential)2-5 years in Credit/Business Analysis (Essential)2-5 years in Risk Management (Desirable)KnowledgeEssential: Experience in analysing financial statements, credit applications, and compiling credit assessment reports.Essential: Broad understanding of banking functions and operations.Desirable: Knowledge of banking regulations.SkillsEssential: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Essential: Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication.Essential: Strong time management and organizational skills.While we would really like to respond to every application, should you not be contacted for this position within 10 working days please consider your application unsuccessful.COMMENTS:When applying for jobs, ensure that you have the minimum job requirements.
