Duties : Provide overall design and structure of the application. Establish coding guidelines (error handling, logging, testing, threading) and enforces guidelines, ensure that the design patterns can be maintained and extended. Version control, create baselines for new and old source codes and merge change into old base lines. Define infrastructure requirements. Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specs. Develop, test and implement efficient and maintainable program logic for existing and new applications in accordance with technical specifications. Generate clear and concise documentation as required within the programs and within the application documentation repository. Monitor performance of assigned system applications, resolving operational issues. Investigate reported code defects and resolve or recommend a solution. Coordinate efforts of creating or rewriting subsystem or making a major functional change to an existing subsystem. Create a schedule using a project management tool, mentor members on business knowledge, system details and complex technical issues. Expand technical and business knowledge through reading, research and on the job training. Provide technical leadership to project managers and programmers working all development project teams. Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic and data processing. Responsible for coaching, disciplining and mentoring of staff to improve performance. Monitor the performance of staff and ensure assessment of their performance. Provide input in drafting of budget in the section. Control and monitor the subsection budget and expenditure. Coordinate the compilation of various reports and statistics for the section. Monitor leave of sub-ordinates.
