Area Sales Representative – Orthopaedic Trauma Implants (Gauteng)Job Overview :We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Representative to join our team in Gauteng.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales of orthopaedic trauma implants, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and providing expert support in theatre environments.
A strong background in surgical sales and theatre experience is essential for this role.Key Responsibilities :Sales & Business DevelopmentoAchieve and exceed sales targets within the Gauteng region.oDevelop and maintain strong relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, hospital procurement teams, and medical staff.oIdentify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the orthopaedic trauma market.oConduct regular sales calls, presentations, and product demonstrations to healthcare professionals.Theatre Support & Clinical AssistanceoProvide in-theatre support during orthopaedic trauma implant procedures, ensuring correct usage of products.oTrain and assist surgeons and theatre staff on product application and surgical techniques.oEnsure a high level of technical and clinical knowledge to support surgical teams effectively.Account Management & Customer RelationsoMaintain strong customer relationships and provide exceptional service to existing clients.oWork closely with hospital procurement teams to facilitate product approvals and stock management.oResolve customer queries and provide after-sales support.Reporting & Market AnalysisoMonitor competitor activities and provide market insights to management.oPrepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports.oProvide feedback on market trends and customer needs to enhance product offerings.Minimum Requirements :Education :oMatric Certificate (essential).oTertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Biomedical Sciences, or a related medical field (preferred).Experience :oMinimum of 2–5 years of sales experience in the medical device industry, preferably in orthopaedic trauma implants.oProven track record in theatre-based sales and support.oExperience working with surgeons, hospital staff, and procurement teams.oStrong theatre etiquette and experience assisting in surgical procedures.oExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.oHighly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure.oGood understanding of the medical regulatory environment and compliance.oValid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within Gauteng.What We Offer :1.Competitive basic salary plus commission structure.2.Company vehicle allowance and fuel card.3.Medical aid and pension fund contributions.4.Continuous training and professional development opportunities.5.A dynamic and fast-paced working environment within a leading medical device company.Create a job alert for this search
