Accountant Group FinanceRosebank, JohannesburgResponsible for General Ledger entries and reporting of transactions originating from the Insurance Administration SystemResponsible for the capturing (General Ledger), reporting, reconciling and commentary of numbers originating from the Insurance SystemSpecific focus is on Premiums, Claims and Commissions.Processing Analyse the monthly trial balance for unusual movements, query and follow through with Operational finance.Import the Trial balance into the General Ledger systemProcess additional monthly standard journals received from Operational Accounts department as well as other Group finance journals, as requiredManage deliverables including analysis of key reports from Operational Accounts DepartmentImplementation of new accounts and financial processes for new products and changes in operationsReconciling Reconciling all trial balance accounts to the general ledgerFinancial Reporting Provide management and Board with accurate information and value-added commentary for month end and year end reporting Investigate and explain variances to budget on all key numbers Performance of the monthly profit allocation calculation Budgeting Preparing all related Income and Expense budgetsPreparing budget presentations for Exco and Board budget meetings with value added commentary on all variancesStatutory reporting Assist and prepare financial information for the annual financial statements Attending to Audit queries Preparation of the year-end profit allocation calculationBusiness related issues Respond to queries from business timeouslyAssisting with ad hoc requestsQualifications, Experience, Knowledge and SkillsB. Com with minimum 3 years working experienceKnowledge of the insurance industry an advantageGood accounting knowledge and proven track recordIs adept in the use of the latest MS Office package, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Exposure to various software solutionsKnowledge of Great Plains an advantageIs articulate and communicates in a logical way and structures information to meet the needs and understanding of intended audiences, including senior management/executivesAble to prioritise and work under pressureGood presentation skills
