Accountant

A well-established Tourism Company in Cape Town requires the skills of a qualified Group Accountant with completed articles and with excessive experience in hospitality (+/- 5 years minimum)Duties include:Maintain and prepare accounting recordsProcess financial transactions as per Company requirementsPrepare, manage and control the cash books and petty cashPrepare bank reconciliations in a timely manner, ensuring reconciling items are valid and clearPrepare reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income/expense itemsAssist with the preparation of monthly management account packsImplement and maintain financial control systemsDocument financial control proceduresAssist with year-end audit process and liaise with external auditorsMaintain and monitor creditors' recordsPrepare VAT returns and all supporting documentationPrepare tax returns and other documentation required by SARS to reviewEnsure that all SARS requirements are timeously metConduct financial due diligence as per Company requirementsHospitality experience essentialGroup Accountant will report directly to the Financial ManagerPlease note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
