We have a position available for an Accountant in the Silo Industry located in Klerksdorp.
To qualify for this position candidates require: a relevant BCom degree with completed SAICA articles. At least 3 years relevant accounting experience. Advanced Accounting principles knowledge and experience (IFRS). Basic understanding of the functioning of an agricultural business. Great communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail.
The duties expected of the successful applicant are as follows but not limited to:
Financial and operational reporting/authorization: Scrutinize expenses for incorrect GL, cost allocations and CC and do correctional journals where necessary. Test accuracy, classification and existence of transactions. Handle queries from silos. Check POs done to external vendors for correctness and for approval in terms of delegation of duties. Recommend corrections and follow up on corrections. Assisting with the preparation of information for monthly financial meetings. Calculate in and out provisions for year and season tariff storage options and volume storage discount and do provision journal. Processing of other month-end journals. Monthly reallocation (cycles) of certain costs. Clearing of balance sheet accounts and prepare monthly balance sheet recons. Prepare reports & distribute to relevant key receivers. Identify system problems and suggest solutions. Identify deviations to policies & procedures and implement an improved control environment. Monthly balancing of related party transactions and balances with counterparties and making necessary corrections as needed.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts: Gather historic financial information. Apply expected financial and economic indicators on historical and new information. Incorporate all changes to current business model and structure. Prepare, analyze and interpret budget (annually) and forecasts (quarterly). Preparing uploads from budget working papers. Upload and reconciliation on SAP & EY. Test expenditure against policy/budget. Analyze & recommend savings in expenditures. Monitor system, processes and procedures. Half year end and year end reporting.
Basic Salary on offer ranges from R 40000.00 to R 50000.00 with benefits to be discussed.
