We are now seeking a highly competent and motivated Accountant / Controller to join our Finance Department and play a key role in optimising our financial operations.About the RoleThe Accountant / Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role offers a blend of hands-on accounting, process improvement, and leadership within a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee accounting functions, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with South African accounting standards.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimise financial performance.Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Provide financial analysis and insights to guide strategic business decisions.Ensure compliance with all tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, and other statutory obligations).
Mentor and guide finance team members to ensure efficiency and professional growth.Reporting StructureReports to: General Manager FinanceLiaises with: Department Heads and Cross-Functional TeamsMinimum RequirementsQualificationsBachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.ExperienceMinimum 5 8 years proven experience in accounting or financial management.Solid understanding of South African accounting standards and tax laws.Software ProficiencyExperience with accounting software (e.g. Xero or similar).
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
